These popular side dishes will compliment your pizza in all the best ways.

It is no secret that pizza is one of the best go-to options when it comes to hosting a party or feeding a group of people. With the variety of toppings, flavors and sizes to choose from, you can create your own pizza concoction that is perfect for virtually any type of event. Plus, since pizza is a popular dish for people of all ages, you can guarantee that everyone will leave your party feeling satisfied and happy.

However, while pizza may be a hearty meal for yourself or a couple of friends, it takes more than just one delicious pizza dish to satisfy a party. (Or does it?) Luckily, there are several tasty side dishes that can complement your meal and keep your guests coming back for more. And the best part? Most of these dishes can be purchased right alongside your pizza, which means more time for you to chat up your friends!

To help you adequately plan for your next party, we have put together a few of our favorite pizza side dishes that will complete your meal and ensure that you have the best party on the block:

Bruschetta
This classic Italian dish is the perfect appetizer to get your friends and family in the mood for a hot, cheesy pizza. Basic bruschetta consists of sliced, toasted Italian bread that has been drizzled with high-quality olive oil, then sprinkled over with a pinch of raw garlic. Next, you top the bread with a delicious combination of fresh herbs, a bit of balsamic vinegar and a small amount of chopped onion.

Garlic Bread
Another great side dish that uses Italian bread is garlic bread. This side dish can be served right alongside your pizza and is great for dipping in any extra marinara sauce you may have left over. Garlic bread is typically made by combining garlic and butter, then spreading it overtop a slice of Italian bread. Next, it can be grilled over the stove or baked in the oven until it is nice and soft.

Buffalo Wings
If you are throwing a party to celebrate a big sporting event or a friendly game night, buffalo wings make a great compliment to your pizza dish. These fried chicken wings can be dipped in a variety of sauces―from oriental flavors to classic spicy chile sauce―and taste best served alongside blue cheese and celery.

Salad
Another great option for a pizza appetizer is good ol’ fashion salad. Whether you choose to serve a Caesar, Greek or Garden salad, this dish makes a great complimentary food to any hearty Italian pizza. Plus, the dressing that you use is great for dunking pizza crust after you have finished eating.

While pizza is a great, filling meal in its own right, serving a side dish alongside your meal will help to keep your guests full and happy. After all, the type of food you serve can make or break your party. Luckily, Sal’s Pizza has just what you need to satisfy your guests and throw the hottest shindig of the year.

Family owned and operated since 1990.

What has made Sal’s Pizza such a unique and successful pizza restaurant? It was probably a combination of having the freshest ingredients, competitive prices, and a giant, delicious 3-pound big slice pizza. CEO Sal Lupoli’s quest to create the best pizza started during a culinary apprenticeship in Boston's North End, home to more than 100 authentic Italian eateries. It was here that Sal got the idea for the business that would eventually grow to more than 40 locations in Arizona, California, Florida, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire.

Between all of our Sal’s locations, we make over 40,000 pizzas every week! We’re also constantly expanding, and looking for new opportunities to grow. We would love to speak with you if you’re interested in more information about opening a Sal's Pizza franchise.

Along with our big slice pizza, we also offer smaller pizzas, salads, buffalo wings, calzones, and our own special creation: the Salzone, which is basically an open-faced sandwich topped with cheese. For our Sal’s Pals, we periodically offer coupons and discounts to make our already great value an even better deal (see above to sign up).

Hungry yet? Check out the Sal's Pizza menu or find a Sal's Pizza location near you!
